This horn was in my possession for the past few years but it was sleeping in the case most of its time. I used to play test and compare lots of horns together . A couple of days ago test driven it at home and this horn plays awesome and is very handy to hold . It also could be the large bore as slides look pretty large but my caliper battery is out . It’s a great jazz horn and should do in lead work as well. It’s only here because I’m selling part of my collection.
Horn has wear and tear and scratches appears to have had bell repair long ago which left few lines see photos. These lines cannot be really felt by finger and appears that it was more like a wrinkle repair not a major repair . Horn has rounded tuning slide design pretty innovative like for that period . Copper accents present on slides . Very unique design of pull knobs on slides and also water keys easy to operate .
Beside some wear this horn is full of life with all slides sliding abs smooth Getzen valves with great compression . Horn comes with original case in great shape very handy and original Getzen mouthpiece which will need cleaning . Spotted a couple of minor dings don’t see any resolderings . Overall great and rare vintage horn. Don’t miss out
