The rug is in good condition for age, no staining etc. The thickness is approximately 1"- 1 1/4" shag.  PLEASE NOTE-  The lightest color portions are a 1970s yellow.. almost a light gold color, ( the camera alters it to look a little lighter than it is in some of the pictures).  Any cleaning or dry cleaning should be done by a professional if so desired.
