Listing for sale from my collection accumulated over the years VERY NICE JAZZ HORN THE INDIANA Made BY MARTIN ELKHART , IN USA from CIRCA LATE 1930s / EARLY 1940s period. Please note mouthpiece receiver in part of the leadpipe which was no longer made option on younger Indianas.
Serial range is #30xxx . ( Note :The Indianas had different serial system so please don’t confuse this serial range with the 1940s early Committee .
This Martin INDIANA is a sibling of the Committee model and this one is Medium bore like most Martins although it plays open and very jazzy ! This is the only Indiana . This horn has very nice vintage gold original lacquer with not that much of normal wear and tear ( SEE PHOTOS ) found small dent on top of bell bow / bell pipe and few dings towards valves also on bell pipe. Plays great. The dings does not affect play. There are no repairs or any resolders on it ! It is a sturdy, straight very good looking horn and will last for a long time. PLEASE NOTE THAT TUNING SLIDE IS STUCK . The bottom leg appears to be free but top is stuck . Horn plays great the way it is and I don’t recommend forcing as better to have playing horn than broken horn ! If you are using horn at home the tuning option is not really needed but if you wish to free it I recommend brass technician help with it. The top caps and buttons are nickel / silver original Martin parts slightly younger than the horn but same / similar as this horn originally had on except that would be lacquer. Bottom caps are original, Horn looks effective and valves and smooth and have top compression. This horn has a bell near 5 inches ( 4.75” )  and it plays very well. All slides pull as valves are great . It’s not a Committee but it’s much cheaper than Committee alternative from the Martin brand and from the era great horns were made and sound as close or even better than Committee depends what sound concept you have or prefer . I would not be selling it but selling part of my trumpet collection accumulated over the years of play testing. I used to compare many horns to each other and this one is not an exception a great player. Don’t miss out !
Horn comes with great shape Kaces gig case very handy And protective with a strap easy to carry.  I will secure for shipping inside the case but horn fits great in it already. Both Case and the horn are gig ready ! You need your own mouthpiece. I pack safely and ship very promptly. Don’t miss out !
