    Description

Vintage 1981 Framed Chicago Circus Parade Poster Advertisement By Fred Baldus.
Tucked inside a beautifully matching blue Nielsen frame is this original advertisement for the Chicago circus parade.
In 1981 Chicago was to hold its first authentic circus parade in more than 40 years and planned to rent at least 40 circus wagons to roam the city.
Mayor Jane M. Byrne of Chicago hosted that parade at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday May the 24th 1981 along Michigan avenue and Columbus drive.
While brochures and other small memorabilia from the day sometimes make it to market, I've yet to see a full size poster advertisement.
This poster measures roughly 28 in by 22 in and is in very lovely condition with only a few condition issues which I've tried to highlight in the final two pictures.  They are small light brown spots.
If you have an interest in all things circus or perhaps you're just a Chicago person with fond memories of the city then I think you would be mighty pleased with a poster like this.
It really is a special piece that you don't see too often.
I'd be happy to answer any questions you have or to take more specific pictures.
I'm real glad you stopped in to check out this unique piece of Chicago History ✌️
