VINTAGE RARE ANTIQUE UNUSUAL AMERICAN BRILLIANT CUT & ETCHED PRESSED GLASS LARGE COMPOTE W/ LID. Jersey Lily Riverside Glass Wellsburg West Virginia ca. 1883
From a local estate sale here in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.  What makes it fantastic is the design, rectangular with a dome lid and scroll handles. It is both cut glass and etched glass as well as a pressed design. I’ve seen a lot of cut glass and a lot of etched crystal but this is a truly beautiful and unusual piece. I recently learned it was from WELLSBURG West Virginia Riverside Glass which was in business from 1880-1889.
Very, very minor roughness on inside of lid. otherwise in great condition.
It measures 8.5" tall to tip of finial on lid, 11" from handle to handle.
