Circus Kirk was a professional circus that toured the eastern U.S. from 1969 until 1977, employing high school and college students as performers and staff. It was the only all-student, tented, 3-ring traveling circus to tour the U.S. Its predecessor, Boas Bros., was launched in 1968, and Circus Kirk debuted in the summer of 1969. The show was founded by Dr. Charles W. “Doc” Boas, a veteran performer and advance man for numerous circuses.
There were no “stars” in the Circus Kirk performance. All of the young performers doubled setting up and taking down the tent, hammering stakes, moving props, and driving one of the 15 show trucks over the road. The circus traveled from 50 to 100 miles each day and gave two daily performances in each town.
A great collection of photos can be found on Flickr.com.
Minor yellowing from age is even throughout. Overall very good condition with one middle fold each, no markings, some minor corner creases as shown in pics. One poster has 2 minor fold tears that are not prominent (circled in pic), other two are solid.
Posters will be folded once on the existing fold, then rolled in a mailing tube and shipped First Class.
