Description

This fantastic pattern was introduced by Imperial in the 1930s as Star Cut. From 1943-1948 the pattern was called Grey Star and it had 6 - 8 points. The name was changed back to Starlight as it is known today. Back in the early seventies I bought a lady's collection of pattern glass predominantly in Starlight. She collected only glass with stars because she said her husband was a Star General. This compote is 9 1/2" across the top x 3" deep x 7 1/2" high x 5 1/4" across the bottom. It has 6 pointed stars. The center pedestal has a plain disk, then a 3/4" section on round panels and a column of ridges. The glass is beautifully clear and in excellent condition. This is a most unusual pattern and a very attractive center piece. No reserve.
