Grueby Pottery Faience 6x6 tile Arts & Crafts teardrop matte green acanthus leaf

Description

Here is a beautiful Grueby Pottery & Tile Co tile of a classical acanthus leaf design surrounding a teardrop egg shape in their famous well curdled matte green, ochre, mauve, and white glazes.  It measures 6 inches square and about 1 inch thick. (11.75" square framed) Unmarked with the exception of the initials of the glazer, WP for Wilhelmina Post.  It is in great condition with only a few tiny edge nicks covered by the frame, some loss to the back, and no other chips, cracks, repairs, or firing flaws.
