This item in my EBAY store is an EAPG CLEAR  "JAPANESE"  LARGE HIGH STANDARD FTD. COVERED COMPOTE.   This Early American Pattern Glass "JAPANESE" covered ftd. compote is antique glass that has survived well over 100 years of survival and because of age has now become a beautiful family heirloom piece of glass;   Where on earth are these pieces to this beautiful Duncan pattern, this item and a ftd. goblet are the only two items I have ever had for sale in forty years of buying and selling, and this ftd. compote is a beauty, my info tell me there are two sizes of covered compotes and this is the larger of the two;   There are no issues with the bottom of this compote, the lid finial has no issues on all the eight four corners of this knob that lifts off this lid, there is a rough area on the ring edge of glass that has a small little chip that must have happened when removed from the mold (my opinion and you can have yours), after all the finial has no damage, how this area got damage who knows, that is the only issue on this beauty and naturally e-mails are welcome;   This EAPG clear "JAPANESE" large high standard ftd. covered compote that I have here is in excellent, there are no cracks, scratches, and no glass staining;   There is absolutely no damage anywhere around the top finial or the base of this much sought after beauty;   You will see very light surface wear on the very bottom of this family heirloom "JAPANESE" large ftd. covered compote that was moved around in many of the china closets during the many years of survival (well over 100 years of survival), this "JAPANESE" ftd. covered compote that I have here is non-flint glass;   I may add that this "JAPANESE" ftd. covered compote that I have here does have those Early American Pattern Glass characteristics of the EAPG era of the glass making process having your stress lines, straw marks, and air bubbles inside this particular ftd. covered compote, these characteristics are from the production process and is NOT considered damage, any questions at all please e-mail me, this is quite a beauty for this "JAPANESE" pattern, one can never have enough covered serving items for their pattern service set;   I may also add that this

The glass quality on this "JAPANESE" covered compote is very clear;   This "JAPANESE" highly sought after pattern was produced by the "George Duncan & Sons, out of Pittsburgh, Pa. around 1880" and can be seen and talked about in one of my many reference materials, one by, "Reilly & Jenks" the "Early American Pattern Glass Collector's Identification and Price Guide shows this pattern on pages #274 & #275;
