estate find....a Beautiful Antique EAPG Sun Purple Etched Floral Sandwich/Cake Plate with a Handle. It measures 15" high, 5.5" across the top and 10" in diameter and with the handle stands 4.5" tall.Excellent Preowned condition! No chips, cracks, or repairs, but please note there are a few very small scratches (see photo's)
Note: I purchased this item from a family member of the original owner, and it has been in storage since 1965. Lavender glass is often a result of vintage glass that
contained manganese dioxide and it has a tendency to
turn
different shades of
purple
when exposed to the rays of the
sun
or to other ultra-
violet
sources. ... This
changes
the manganese compound into a form that
causes
the
glass
to
turn purple
.
