  • Condition: Good condition for age, except for visible water stains throughout. Displayable as-is, but If you are skilled in restoraration, this could be made into an exceptional piece of art. Outside of the water staining, there are some surface nicks/loss of color as seen in photos. It is minor and as expected for a piece that has likely seen many moves in it's lifetime. Of course, frame also has some expected dings, loss of finish, etc.

    Description

Estate purchase, as found.  Permanently mounted on thin/lightweight panel board.  Frame is approximately 24" x 16" with opening of approximately 23" x 15".  As you can see, the print on the outermost borders is slightly covered by the frame.  I do not believe the frame can be removed without damaging the poster - it appears to all be permanently glued.  Produced by Courier Litho Co, but not dated.  However, based on the history of the company, it is safe to assume this is from the late 1800's/early 1900's.  A little online history on Courier Litho:
'Courier printed all of the posters for PT Barnum's circus in 1887 and most of the posters for Ringling Bros from 1890 - 1906.  The company's ability to print large posters was brought to an end in 1908 when a fire destroyed many of the larger presses and advertising materials, effectively ending their ability to compete with other litho printers.'
Please open all photos in full/enlarged size.  NOTE:
