Antique EAPG~Butler Bros "Leader" Decanter/Bottle 1916 Bullseye & Hobstar~HTF

Up for your consideration is a RARE and stunning
estate find....a Sun Purple glass Bottle/Decanter made by Butler Bros. Glass Company. It's pattern is called "Leader", circa 1916. It stands 9.5" high, 4.5" in diameter at the base. It features a Bullseye, Hob Stars and Diamond Cut designs.There is a 1 Qt mark at the base of the neck. A really lovely piece IMO.This item is in Excellent Preowned condition, with no evidence of chips, cracks, or repairs.Please note this needs a bit of cleaning on the inside.
Note: I purchased this item from a family member of the original owner, and it has been in storage since 1965. I am note sure if this is the case with this item, but often times Lavender glass is a result of vintage glass that
contained manganese dioxide and it has a tendency to
turn
different shades of
purple
when exposed to the rays of the
sun
or to other ultra-
violet
sources. ... This
changes
the manganese compound into a form that
causes
the
glass
to
turn purple
.
