"HELL DRIVERS" MOVIE LOBBY CARD
- 1957 Rank Organisation. 14" x 11" (high gloss stock).
We are offering an original color scene card (made in Italy), featuring popular British TV star Patrick McGoohan. Patrick McGoohan is best known for his British 1960s television series "Danger Man" (US: Secret Agent), the surreal psychological drama "The Prisoner" (which he co-created), and Walt Disney's "The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh".
This is the 'key' lobby card from the set. Also appearing with McGoohan is this fight scene is up-and coming actor
SEAN CONNERY
(his third film role). McGoohan famously turned down the James Bond 007 role and Connery... well... the rest is 007 history.
The movie itself, "Hell Drivers", is a British "film noir" thriller directed by Cy Endfield. The gritty plot involves a trucker who tangles with a corrupt boss and his thugs (McGoohan plays a particularly nasty thug). It starred Patrick McGoohan, Stanley Baker, Herbert Lom, and Peggy Cummins.
Notably, the cast also included early appearances of future "secret agent" David McCallum (he does not appear on card).
A scarce original artifact for the JAMES BOND 007 completist.
Condition is considered GOOD to FAIR with moderate surface/stain/edge wear. Misc. surface/corner creasing with scattered surface scuffing and 12 pinholes (mainly in outer areas of scene). Colors and imagery are still bold, bright and attractive.
Overall, we feel this scarce card is very displayable by most standards (see photos).
